JAMMU, Oct 14: A meeting of All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum (ADKUF) was held today under the chairmanship of D N Kissu at Durga Nagar in which burning problems of the displaced KPs were discussed.
The meeting said despite the assurances given by the Government and concerned officers regarding issuance of ration cards to migrant employees and pensioners nothing has been done in this regard till date. The Forum demanded release of sugar quota and ration including rice, flour on the pattern of previous quota.
The meeting demanded compensation for damaged houses of Pandits during turmoil or rains and snowfall during the years. It said that no compensation was paid to people despite fervent appeals to Central and State Governments.
It accused the Government of its total failure in implementing the Distress Sale Act in letter and spirit and much talked about PM’s employment package has been kept in limbo due to which major KP youth have become over aged.
It demanded the rent for the land of KPs occupied by army and other forces during the inception of turmoil in Valley, besides, the KPs be given minority status. P L Sudehsi president of the Forum, Prof G L Koul, its chief advisor, M L Pandita advisor, Badri Nath, C L Zutshi and Roshan Lal Raina attended the meeting. It said the Forum will hold the annual convention in November.
