JAMMU, Oct 14: The Government Medical Colleges (GMC) Jammu today observed `World Sight Day’ under the guidance of Head of Department (HoD) Ophthalmology, Dr Dinesh Gupta.
Dr Gupta and his team briefed patients and their attendants in the OPD and Wards about the importance of preserving vision. They were briefed that they should have timely check up of eyes from qualified Ophthalmologists and desist from going to quacks.
Dr Gupta said that after the age of 40 years, the people should go for regular check up of eyes. He added that the diabetic patients should go for regular check up.
The doctors in Ophthalmology Department said the patients and their attendants should also make their family members, friends and others aware about importance of the vision and spread awareness about it.
