Solving power woes

Sir,
The days of power woes have ended for the present, after worst was experienced this summer. Thanks to Almighty for season change and credit to PDD for ensuring uninterrupted power supply now a days. A big relief indeed!
Further, It is heartning to know from your editorial DE Oct.21-that clearance has been given by Govt. for enhancement of  generating capacity of largest RHP to 850 MW from 690MW and cabinet nod for the same is underway now.Likewise , the State has set itself  a target of 3232MW during 12th  plan for which entire capital is being arranged  through IPP and Govt. contribution being made available through land and PPA. All these are welcome measures.
Rightly, you have stated that focussed attention need to be given on transmission & distribution loss due to pilferage. Here, awareness of people is dawning that one needs professional help to address this core issue. Therefore, the Govt. has approved the privatization of T&D project and implementation of the same is in process. The doubts, misnomers, genuine grievances of employees should be sorted out by the present dispensation deligently and to the satisfaction of all concerned quickly. No hurdle, vested interest, irritants should come in way of successful transition as per time bound schedule.
Hopefully, PDD shall also use this period to redress the already pending specific grievances of customers, before onset of new summer.viz. upgrading  capacity of loaded transformers, replacing of worn out cables, poles etc. They must iron out glitches in plan of making lives of people better for tommrow. This much we all deserve in 21st century.
Anyhow, climb out of morass has begun .What is required is focussed approach at every stage of planning and execution or else the strategy drawn can come to an untimely end, which shall be unfortunate. The impact of measures undertaken will be visible in coming summer.
Yours etc….
