Seminar on evil effects of drug addiction

JAMMU, Nov 9: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita has stressed on prevention of drug abuse in the society.
Addressing a seminar at Migrant Higher Secondary School, Jagti township Nagrota near here today he said it is the need of the hour to create awareness against the drug menace which if not checked will ruin the society as a whole.
He said drug menace is growing day by day with more and more youth falling a  prey to it. This is an alarming signal and all should join hands irrespective of their party politics to launch a crusade against its eradication.
Mr Pandita said that the school going and college students can play a vital role in eradication of this menace by organising workshops, seminars and launching door to door campaign as the menace will have harmful effects on society.
The programme was organised by Camp School Jagti in colaboratin with Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC).
Speaking on the occasion Principal of the School Santosh Kumar Pandita said that his institution will take a lead in launching a crusade against the menace and special lectures will henceforth organised in the school on this issue.
Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC also appealed the people to cooperate in eradicating this menace from the society as drug addiction has destroyed the lives of many people and their families.
