BGSBU launches Training Prog for artisans

RAJOURI, Nov 9: To empower the artisans of district, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) has launched Training Programmes for unemployed youth of the region under Training through Established Institutions HRD Scheme of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
As a part of the project two batches of long-term training programme have been launched and six short-term training programmes will be started from first week of December.
The main objective of the programme is skill up gradation of the aspiring artisans in Chikri Woodcraft through training is use of State of art machinery and marketing techniques.
While commenting on the project, Vice Chancellor Prof IA Hamal said that the project sanctioned for five years is a part of the BGSB University’s mandate of reaching the un-reached rural populace of this backward and hilly region.
Admission process for six batches of short-term training programmes in Chikri Woodcraft is open through the Principal College of Engineering and Technology, BGSBU.
Those interested may apply for admission in the project office established in the CoET Old Workshop Complex up to November 25.
