KATRA, Nov 9: As a part of fire safety preparedness to ensure fire incident free forthcoming Diwali festival and to create fire safety awareness among the general public, a fire safety awareness programme was organized at Hotel Vaishnodevi here today.
In the awareness programme, workers and management of different hotels, guesthouses and lodges of Katra took part and they were made aware about the adoption of fire precautionary measures in their respective establishments.
The experts of Fire and Emergency Services Department delivered lecture and demonstration on handling of first aid and fire fighting equipment and how to evacuate building safely in case of any natural disaster.
Meenakshi Koul, Assistant Director Tourism, Katra and Sham Kesar, president Hotel Association Katra extended full cooperation in organizing awareness programme.
The programme was organized under the supervision of R C Raina, Assistant Director, Fire and Emergency Services, Command Udhampur/Reasi under the guidance of Dr G A Bhat, Director General Fire and Emergency Services and R S Sodhi, Director Fire and Emergency Services.
