CEC inaugurates bridge

LEH, Nov 9: The Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar today inaugurated a 15 meters span steel girder bridge at Phey, which was completed at a cost of Rs 57 lakh under permanent restoration and district plan.
Addressing a public gathering, the CEC said that LAHDC has kept more provision in 12th Five Year Plan under agriculture and allied sectors considering its significance for sustainable development in Ladakh. He urged the people to give attention towards cash crops by adopting new technologies.
Responding to the demands projected by the people, Spalbar told that LAHDC was working on lift irrigation scheme for Phey village and very shortly the same will be forwarded for funding. He assured blacktopping of road from Gupuk to Phey in the next financial year and directed the Executive Engineer R&B to take necessary measures for construction of foot suspension bridge over Indus River at Phey.
The Councilor Phayang constituency also spoke on the occasion and briefed about the various ongoing developmental activities being carried out in his constituency.
