JAMMU, Nov 9: In a complaint filed against Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand and his personal staff, Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Puneet Gupta today directed Vigilance Organization to file fresh status report by the next date.
When the complaint was taken up for hearing, Advocate S S Ahmed appearing for the applicant submitted that the status report filed by the Vigilance Organization was not satisfactory as no concrete step has so for been taken in the complaint. However, the CPO submitted that the Vigilance was taking all possible steps to reach to logical conclusion in the matter.
After hearing both the sides, Special Judge Anticorruption observed, “the status report reveals  that the Vigilance Organization is still in the process of obtaining and scrutinizing the records from different departments in connection with the complaint filed by the applicant. It appears that preliminary enquiry is being conducted into the complaint and the FIR has not been formally registered by the concerned police station. The enquiry being conducted by the concerned authority requires acceleration”.
“The court cannot issue directions as to how the enquiry is to be conducted yet the Court can monitor progress of the case. As the police is in the process of collecting relevant material which will require scrutiny by the concerned agency, the Court hopes that the exercise will be completed within shortest possible time”, Special Judge Anticorruption said.
With these observations, the Court directed listing of the application on December 27, 2012 and asked the Vigilance Organization to file fresh status report by next date of hearing.
