GOC pats CRPF for combating insurgency, maintaining law & order

SRINAGAR, Nov 9: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, Lieutenant General, Om Prakash today lauded the role of the Central Reserve Police Force in maintaining law and order in different parts of the country.
Addressing a function held in connection with the passing out of 366 recruits as constables in the Central Reserve Police Force, Lt Gen Om Prakash said that CRPF jawans have discharged their duties while upholding highest values of professionalism and integrity. He said the CRPF jawans have been performing diverse functions in various parts of the country.
The 366 recruits were inducted as constables in the CRPF at an impressive passing out parade at Recruit Training Centre, Humhama in the outskirts of Srinagar.
“Whenever there is problem of law and order in any part of the country, CRPF is called in to defuse the crisis. Over the years the force has rendered appreciable service and it would continue to do so in future as well. The CRPF jawans are highly professional and they never compromise on the professional acumen while serving the people at different occasions,” said Lt Gen Om Prakash.
He said that CRPF jawans have also played a notable role in fighting insurgency in some states of the country, adding that the force had to pay price in the form of ‘sacrifices’ offered by the jawans. He said it is due to the efforts of the CRPF that insurgency or militancy has been contained in some of the states.
Lt Gen Om Prakash said that due to secularism, transparency in duties and unbiased approach the CRPF has gained confidence and faith among the people of the country. He said the force is also called in to render their services at the time of a natural calamity, adding that welfare of society has been the prime motto of the force.
Sudhir Pratap Singh, IGP CRPF and Bhupinder Singh, DIG/RTC welcomed the chief guest. The chief guest took the salute and blessed the newly passed out constables for their bright future.
The constables have been imparted intensive training including conditioning to operate in different environmental conditions, law, human rights and police-public relations etc.
The all-round best trainee award was bagged by constable general duty, Ganga Sagar while as constable general duty Kharatmol Vaishnov was adjudged the best shooter. Constable general duty Thorat Raju was awarded for being the best in indoor while as constable general duty Abhay Kant was awarded for being best in outdoor.
