JAMMU, Oct 20: Vishwakarma Day was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety.
Vishwakarma Sabha, Gurah Bakshi Nagar celebrated Vishwakarma day with religious fervour. BJP State President and MLA Jammu West, Sat Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. A number of social programmes including drama on the ill effects of drug abuse were organized. Vice-Chairperson OBC Board, Rashpal Verma, Ex-VC OBC Kuldeep Raj Verma, Nodal Officer NHM Dr Harjeet Rai, Ex-Corporators Manmohan Singh and Chander Mohan Gupta, Zorawar Singh, Secretary General, Press Club of Jammu, President Vishwakarma Sabha, Vijay Kumar and many others were present on the occasion.

Pardesh Vishwakarma Sabha J&K celebrated Vishwakarma Day at Vishwakarma Temple, New Plot. On the occasion, pooja and hawan were performed by the Prabandhak Committee of the temple. Among others present were Ram Lal, Retd Principle, Rattan Lal Chargotra, Vice President Akhil Bhartiya Vidhwakarma Mahasabha, Shashi Verma, President, PVS J&K, Joginder Angotra, Joginder Paul, Charanjeet Bitta, Raman Chalotra, Amarjeet Chargotra (Advocate), Janak Singh and RC Angotra.
The technical and non-technical staff of Advanced Centre for Horticulture Research (ACHR), Udheywalla, of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J), celebrated Vishwakarma Day. The staff of this centre performed pooja of Lord Vishwakarma and the equipments used by them in the fields for carrying out day to day operations. Dr Parshant Bakshi, Head, ACHR highlighted the importance the day. The others staff members present on the occasion include Dr Kamlesh Bali, Balbir Dhotra, Manohar Lal, Krishan Lal, Raju, Sanjeet, Devraj, Shukar Dass and Gharu Ram.
Jay Kay Vishwakarma Labour Union, Rehari Colony celebrated Vishwakarma Day. On the occasion, Sat Sharma, MLA Jammu West was the chief guest, while Ravinder Singh, Director School Education Jammu was the special guest. Chairman of the Union Surinder Kumar, President Kulwant Singh, Convener Vinay Raina, Cashier Surinder Singh, Sonu, Om Parkash, Omesh and many others were present on the occasion.
A programme was organised by Vishwakarma Temple Committee, Mishriwala under the supervision of Committee President Purshotam Chargotra. On the occasion, Shamsher Singh Manhas, MP Rajya Sabha was the chief guest, while JR Sagar, renowned actor was the guest of honour. A hawan and bhajan kirtan were held in the temple, followed by cultural show and speeches. Children sang Vishwakarma Bhajans. Notebooks were distributed by Shree Vishwakarma Library to the participating children. Mangal Dass, Founder member of the temple, Lakhan Pal Salaria, Vice President, Sat Pal Verma, Ex-President, Vijay Chargotra, Pal Verma, Sanjeev Verma and many others were present on the occasion. Balwant Kataria conducted the proceedings of the function.
Water Works (PHE) Employees Association Jammu Province celebrated Vishwakarma Day under the leadership of Shiv Kumar Sharma, Provincial President of Association. On the occasion, Ashok Kumar Gandotra, Chief Engineer, PHE Department was the chief guest, while officers, ministerial staff and worked were also present, who performed pooja of Lord Vishwakarma. KS Sambyal, Joint Director Agriculture (Inputs), Jammu, MA Khateeb, Agriculture Research Engineer, Jammu, Sunil Koul, Deputy Director (Trainings), CM Sharma, Deputy Director (Central), Jammu, KK Gupta, DSCO, Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen, ADO (Vegetables), Jammu, Uttam Chand, President, J&K Agriculture Employees Association and other senior officers of the department also attended the programme.
To celebrate Vishwakarma Day, J&K Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan in collaboration with JK Bhoomi Human Welfare Society and Sangam Tru Art Production performed musical play “Vishwakarma”. The play was written and directed by ML Dogra, renowned writer and director. The program was inaugurated by Madan Lal Kalotra, Former Superintendent Engineer PDD as chief guest, while JK Koul, Writer presided over the function. JK Raina, Freelancer Producer, VK Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, Tara Singh Charak Former Deputy Director, Health Department were the guests of honour. The artists, who performed in the play were KK Joshi, Hem Raj, MC Kotwal, Rajni Gupta, JK Koul, Jatinder Jotshi, Arvin Tikoo, Vijay Raina, Rahul Pandita, Daizy, Rajesh Khar, Arshad Nowshari, Farhat Sidiqi and Rohita Razdan. Coordinator of the programe Deepak Kumar Dogra presented vote of thanks.
Government ITI Kathua celebrated Vishwakarma Day under the supervision of Naresh Singh Superintendent ITI Kathua. The staff and students of the institute worshiped Lord Vishwakarma by performing the pooja of tools, equipments and machines.
Vishwakarma Day celebrations were held at Rajouri with religious and traditional fervour as workers in different institutions, trade unions and individuals organized separate functions for worshipping Lord Vishwakarma and tools being used by them. President of Rajouri Spare Part Union and his associates organised a function at Rajouri, where MLC Vibod Gupta was the chief guest and Yougal Kumar Manhas remained the guest of honour. President. Raja Rattan, members of the Union, all the technicians of different trades, engineers, artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, welders, masons, industrial and factory workers along with the members of civil society participated in the pooja of Lord Vishwakarma. Around 15 persons were awarded in huge gathering. SSP Yougal Manhas Dhyaan Chand, Kala Ram, Rakesh Kumar, Kaka Tilak, Kuldep Sharma, Nazeeb, Shoket, Sunil Kumar and many others were also present on the occasion.
Vishwakarma Day was celebrated in Udhampur with great pomp and show. The main function was organized at Vishwakarma Temple at Adarsh Colony, wherein many devotees paid obeisance to Lord Vishwanath. The function was held under the supervision of Vijay Manhas, Acting President Vishwakarma Karma Sabha Udhampur district. MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. In the morning, hawan was performed and later a Shobha Yatra was taken out.
Vishwakarma Sabha Ramnagar celebrated Vishwaka-rma Day at Radha Krishan Temple main bazaar Ramnagar. President Tirth Ram, Sham Lal, Former President Hukam, Balwant Singh, Sukhdev Chand, Jagdish, Raghuvir, Uttam and the other members of the Vishwakarma Sabha were present on the occasion.
Vishwakarma Day was celebrated with fervour and gaiety by the trainees and staff of Government ITI, Canal road.
On the occasion, Principal Anoop Sharma and staff members along with trainees performed pooja of Lor Vishwakarma and the tools at various workshop blocks of the institute.
