RAMBAN, Oct 20: The residents of Sherbibi and other adjoining areas held protest against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department.
Amid slogans against PHE Department, large number of people including women assembled near Sherbibi and blocked the vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
During protest, long queues of vehicles were witnessed on the highway.
The protesters alleged that there was no water supply in their area for the past around one week, due to which they are facing manifold problems to carry out their day to day activities.
After getting information, Tehsildar Banihal and a police team led by SHO Banihal Aejaz Wani rushed to the spot and pacified the protesting people by assuring them to take up the issue with the concerned authorities.
On the assurance, the protesters dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the highway.
