JAMMU, Oct 21: MLA Akhnoor, Rajiv Sharma today inaugurated a ticket booking counter and municipal shopping complex at Akhnoor Bus Stand and a park at Sohal.
While speaking on the occasion, Rajiv said that about Rs 24 lakh have been spent on the construction of ticket booking counter and municipal shopping complex while Rs 40 lakh have been incurred on construction of park.
The MLA told the gathering that many more development works are on cards in Akhnoor constituency. He informed that in past three years, 97 new power transformers have been installed while worth Rs 3.5 crore of defective transformers have been repaired to provide smooth power supply to the consumers.
“Besides, establishing Mango village of worth Rs 4 crore, construction of rural roads worth Rs 70 crore under PMGSY and launching of worth Rs 4 crore new water supply schemes are some major achievements of BJP in Akhnoor constituency”, he added.
Rajeev further said that setting up of Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ayurvedic College, Chowki Choura hospital and many others projects abandoned by previous Governments have also been started with new funding.
EO, Municipality, Akhnoor, Garu Ram, XEn Arvind Gupta, local Sarpanch Nek Ram, ex-ward member Madan Lal and many others were present on the occasion.
