JAMMU, Oct 22:  Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) in collaboration with Sangam True Art Production today inaugurated “10 day Mime Theatre Workshop” at Kala Kendra, Bikram Chowk here.
Devender Singh Rana, provincial president of National Conference (MLA Nagrota) was the chief guest and Padam Shri Balwant Thakur and Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary J&K Academyof Art Culture and Languages were guests of honour on this occasion. All the guests were honoured by the organizers. The welcome lamp for workshop was lit by dignitaries.
Welcome address was presented by the ESRM chairman Vijay Mala, who has got senior fellowship in theatre by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
A brief definition of Mime Theatre Form was given by the Resource Person of the workshop Soma Das from Kolkata. Soma has been given Ustad Bismillah Khan Award by Sangeet Natak Academy, Government of India.
A Mime presentation by mime actor from Kolkata Sumana Bashak was presented for the guests and students who are part of this workshop. His performance was appreciated by one and all.
An awareness Nukkad was presented by famous Nukkad Group ESRM.
This workshop has been inaugurated for ten days for the students of ESRM and other groups.
Guest of honour Padam Shri Balwant Thakur said that such kind of workshops are very much needed for the better future of theatre in Jammu. Chief guest Devender Singh Rana appreciated the efforts of orginzers who are organising such kind of workshop on Mime Theatre.
Soma Dass thanked Devender Rana and Balwant Thakur for their cooperation.
