SRINAGAR: Despite tension along the border due to ceasefire violation in Uri sector in Kashmir, 34 fresh guests from Pakistanoccupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here while 54 returnees also crossed sides at the Line of Control (LoC) in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus.
No Kashmiri crossed over to the other side of the LoC on Monday in the weekly bus service, which operates between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, official sources said this evening.
The bus service resumed on Monday after remaining suspended last week due to Diwali festival.
They said 34 residents of PoK arrived at Kaman Post after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge, on foot to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.
Seven Kashmiris, including two women, who had gone to PoK to meet their relatives in previous busses also returned home, they said.
They said no Kashmiri crossed over to the other side though 47 PoK residents, including 18 women and four children, who had arrived here in previous buses, returned to their homes after completing their stay. (AGENCIES)
