DODA, Oct 24: The much awaited Jammu-Doda chopper service started today from here thus providing sigh of relief to passengers especially in harsh weather conditions.
Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Doda Shakti Raj Parihar boarded the first flight after flagging off the service.

“The flight will operate from Doda to Jammu every Tuesday and Friday in a week”, MLA Doda informed, adding that the Pawan Hans is the service provider.
He stated that Rs 2500 has been fixed as fare for per passenger and the interested persons can get their tickets booked one day prior to the scheduled flight from Tehsil Office Doda.
He also informed that four passengers traveled from Doda to Jammu in the inaugural passenger flight.
Pertinent to mention here that Doda is one of the remotest districts of Jammu and Kashmir and remains cut off due to snowfall and landslide triggered in monsoon season. The persons flying from Jammu to Doda can get tickets from the office of Deputy Director Tourism, Residency Road, Jammu, who is Nodal Officer for Pawan Hans Services, MLA added.
On the occasion, DC Doda Bhawani Rakwal, SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir and many others were also present.
