9 members of nomad family hurt in Mughal Road mishap

POONCH, Oct 24: Nine members of a nomad family were injured, three of them seriously when a Tata Mobile vehicle rolled down into a gorge near Chandimarh in Balfliaz area of Surankote on Mughal Road this afternoon.
A police spokesman giving details said that mishap took place at around 2 pm when a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No. JK05A/ 2398 was on its way to Kalakote in district Rajouri from Shopian side in Kashmir. It was carrying members of a nomad family.
As the vehicle reached near Chandimarh on Mughal Road, the driver lost controlled over the vehicle at a curve  and the vehicle landed into a gorge. Immediately, after the mishap, the people of the area and  some  people travelling in other vehicles rushed to the accident site.  The police party from Police Post Behramgalla also arrived there after some time and joined rescue operation.
With the help of locals of the area, the Police shifted all the nine injured persons to Surankote hospital in a private mini-truck, where three of them, injured seriously, were referred to District Hospital, Rajouri and then to Govt Medical College, Hospital, Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
The injured are identified as- Mohd Ayub, Rukmat Jan, Mohd Ashraf, Shakila Bi, Showkat, Shahnwaz, Mohd Mushtaq, Mohd Daud and Kali Bi.
