MIET finishes in top 10 finalists in India Startup Summit at Chennai

JAMMU, Oct 25: Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) earned another accolade for the State of J&K, when its faculty-led startup, Perpetual Innovation Private Limited, was selected as a finalist for the India Startup Summit on the sidelines of the India International Science Festival, held at Chennai.
The Startup Summit 2017 was organized by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology and Vijnana Bharti Foundation to recognize and promote institute-driven startups both in the faculty and student category.
The Summit was open to all institutions of higher learning across India. The team from MIET comprising Prof Ankur Gupta, Director MIET and faculty members Rishi Gupta, Sahil Sawhney and Purnendu Prabhat with their entry, the award-winning analytics software, Performance Insight 360, was selected across India among the top ten finalists to participate in the two-day event at IIT, Madras and Anna University, Chennai and received the certificate of merit.
The entry from MIET was the only entry in the software product category among the finalists and received compliments for the innovative use of analytics in academia. Performance Insight 360 has already received three national-level awards in 2016, including the DL Shaw Platinum Award by the Quality Council of India, Ricoh Education Excellence Award and the Startup Board Award at the 8th India Innovation Initiative organized by AICTE, DST and CII.
On this national level achievement of MIER team, Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman MIER group, expressed delight that the innovation, research and development at MIET is being recognized at the highest competitive forums in India. He encouraged the team to broad-base innovation across MIET and encourage student-driven innovation to solve problems in the local context.
