SRINAGAR, Oct 25: Police today said three gamblers were arrested from Lal Bazar area of Srinagar.
A police spokesman said that acting on specific information, police raided a gambling site at Lal Bazar near Qadeem Masjid Lane and apprehended three gamblers namely Adil Ahmad Mir, Myser Ahmed Zargar and Noor Mohammad Hajam. “Stake money of Rs. 2770 was recovered from the gambling site,” he said.
The spokesman said that the locals of the area showed utmost maturity and exhibited their role of being respectable and responsible citizens by helping and facilitating police to arrest the culprits. “They reiterated their resolve to report any misdoing in the area to police and stand against every crime in their locality to ensure that their next generation does not indulge in any such crime and rule of law prevails. Case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was set into motion,” he added.
