JAMMU, Oct 25: A labourer died today when earth caved in at a construction site in Mathwar area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, a labourer identified as Showakat Ali (33) son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Sarote in Mathwar area falling under the limits of police station Gharota, was killed on the spot when while working on a construction site earth caved in and he came under it.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to Sub District Hospital, Akhnoor, where after completing all medico-legal formalities, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. “In this connection, Gharota police has registered a case FIR No 101/2017 under Section 304-A against the contractor”, the official added.
