Pir Panchal organises symposium on role of exiled writers

JAMMU, Oct 25: A symposium on the topic the role of exiled writers and poets in promoting the Kashmiri language and literature in exile was organized by Pir Panchal at Radio Sharda FM 90.4 here.
The symposium was organized in collaboration with Department of Science and Technology  (DST) presided over by President, Pir Panchal, Ramesh Hangloo and the young Kashmiri students and writers also participated in it. The main objective of the symposium was to inform the displaced children about their rich cultural heritage and language and bring them more closer to their roots and bridge the gap created by 28 year long displacement.
In his address Ramesh Hangloo said Kashmiri language has its origin in Sanskrit and it is among the richest languages of India. Kashmiri is rich both in content as well as literature and it is one of the civilized languages.
The students of mixed Higher Secondary School Camp Muthi besides other scholars attended the symposium. The others who spoke included Pinal Koul, Sarita Raina, Sujata Pandita, Sandesha Koul and Neelam Razdan Wali Coordinator Department of Science and Technology.
