RAMBAN, Oct 25: A driver was killed, while one another was injured, when the truck they were travelling in, skidded off the road and rolled down in gorge near Shaitani Nallah on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, here today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number PB07AF-2797 was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it landed into 100 meters deep gorge near Shaitani Nallah, resulting into on the spot death of the driver and injuries to one another.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person identified as Gurnam Singh, son of Narinjin Singh, a resident of Hoshiarpur Punjab to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where he was undergoing treatment, when last reports came in.
The body of the deceased identified as Kulvinder Singh, son of Jagdish Singh, a resident of Lohani Sari Saharanpur has been shifted to the mortuary of SDH Banihal for postmortem.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
