UDHAMPUR, Oct 26: Udhampur Police rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested the smuggler, here today at Tikri.
Based on reliable information, Police party led by Inspr Sanjeev Chib, SHO Rehmbal, assisted by SI Sanjeet Sharma, IC PP Tikri, intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AB- 4265, which was on way from Jammu to Srinagar. During search, 10 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. The accused driver, namely Mohd. Shabir son of Jamal Din of Degwar, Poonch, was arrested on the spot and all 10 bovine animals were rescued.
Police also seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR No. 175/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act at Police Station Rehambal.
