SRINAGAR: Former Deputy Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Moulvi Abdul Rashid passed away early Saturday at Pogal in Banihal in Jammu region.
He was 90. Three-time MLA from Banihal constituency, Moulvi Rashid was close associate of former Chief Minister Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. He was jailed several times during his association with plebiscite front headed by Sheikh Abdullah.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, National Conference (NC) president Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son and working president of NC Omar Abdullah have condoled the demise of Moulvi Rashid. (AGENCIES)
