Ghagwal Police rescues 12 bovine animals

KATHUA, Oct 28: In continuation to its drive against bovine smuggling, Ghagwal Police once again today foiled bovine smuggling attempt.
According to  reports a police party headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO P/S Ghagwal while on naaka duty signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02W/3567 coming from Kathua side and going towards Samba to stop. Instead of stopping, driver accelerated his vehicle and tried to escape but police party chased them and intercepted truck near Mehsar Samba. On checking police party found 12 bovines laden in it and were tied with ropes mercilessly.
In this connection a case FIR No.95/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PAC Act,179,184 MV Act stands registered. Driver namely Mohd.Taimur S/o Mohd. Din R/o Pound Reasi was arrested on spot and sustained questioning of driver is going on to ascertain the route. Whole operation was conducted under the direction of SSP Samba, Anil Magotra under close supervision of ASP Samba,  Adil Raja, and DYSP Hqtr, Tanveer Ahmed.
