JAMMU, Oct 29: Jang S Verman, a senior multi- media artist and columnist on Art & Culture has become a part of four- day cultural festival, organized by Society for Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts (SPPAA), at Kalyani Art Gallery, Bhamlada, (Pathankot) from October 27, 2017
The festival is being organized by the Society to commemorate the birth anniversary of Late Prabal Pramanik, a master paper- cutting and multi- media artist.
An art workshop was organized a day before yesterday in which senior artists Jang S Verman from Jammu, Prabhinder Lall from Chandigarh, Sankari Mitra from Kolkatta, Roma Bahal from Lucknow and other young artists participated. A paper craft workshop started yesterday. An All India Art Exhibition was also opened yesterday. The art works of late Prabal Pramanik, reputed artists and young artists of the country have been put on display at the ‘Kalyani Art Gallery’ of the Society for Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts.
A book release function was organized today at the Society where Jang S Verman, a senior multi- media artist and columnist on Art & Culture of Jammu was the chief guest. He released the Hindi poetry collection title ‘Manva Hua Jogi’ of Rakesh Nudrat, hailing from Pathankot. Naresh Dinanagri, writer and historian of art and culture was the special guest on this occasion.
The cultural festival was specially designed by Aroop Chandra, Manager, SPPAA, Bamlada on the birth anniversary of late Prabal Pramanik (1953- 2016), who settled in Bhamlada Bhatwan on the Pathankot- Dalhousie National Highway during the eighties in last century. He had been a versatile artist working in various mediums with equal ease. Prabal’s creations find concrete expressions through paper cuttings, colour works and drawings forming his own world of art that he shares with art lovers all over the world through his exhibitions, books and websites. He established a studio, art gallery ‘Kalyani Art Gallery’.
