BANIHAL, Oct 31: National Conference (NC) today lambasted the PDP-BJP Government for dislodging Gujjars from their dwelling places that they have been rehabilitating since generation and sought immediate end to their harassment by the Forest Department.
“The insensitive Coalition Government is showing discriminatory attitude towards a section of society”, district president Sajjad Shaheen said at a meeting of the representatives of Gujjar community from Pogal -Paristan here this afternoon, adding that they were living in most difficult conditions. He said the Gujjars are being ignored and discriminated in every sphere.
Shaheen blamed the coalition for neglecting weaker sections of society living in remote areas. He said their problems were accumulating with each passing day.
While the power and drinking water supply remains affected most of the time, the rations are scarce on the CAPD sale outlets, he said and urged the administration to show some compassion for the people living in difficult areas.
