Hindi literature discussed at Yuva Lekhak seminar

JAMMU, Oct 31: On the second day of 3-day `Yuva Lekhak Seminar’ the literature of Jammu and Kashmir, being written in Hindi was discussed in detail by the young scholars at KL Saigal Hall here today.
Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University, Jammu was the chief guest, Prof Parvinder Kaur, HoD PG Department of Hindi, University of Jammu presided while Dr Parshotam Kumar, Asst Prof. Department of Hindi, University of Jammu and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretay, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages were also present at the presidium.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof Aima complimented Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for organizing number of activities involving language departments and youth on the whole and said that with these young creative writers and critics are being accommodated to serve the language and literature. He also hoped that the young participation in this 3-day Yuva Lekhak seminar will help a lot to lead the society through their writings, symbolizing the solutions and challenges being faced by the society in this fast changing world.
Dr Parshotam Kumar while presenting his Key-note address said that through literature the evils of society are always being highlighted in the respective times and era. He further mentioned that in J&K the youth since last decade very effectively earmarked the misdeeds of the past and also tried to redefine the social values and evils through their writings both creative and analytic.
Dr Amn, while welcoming the distinguished guests, scholars and dignitaries said that organising such literary programmes with support of language departments will provide a space to the young writers and also encourages them to represent the modern world with idioms and phrases in the form of literature.
Dr Rattan Basotra, Editor Dogri conducted the proceedings and Popinder Singh Paras, Editor Punjabi presented vote of thanks while Prof Parvinder Kaur, delivered her presidential address.
Prof PN Trishal, renowned Hindi writer and scholar presided the first paper session and Dr Baljit Raina, eminent Punjabi and Hindi writer presided the concluding session.
Among others present included, Khalid Hussain, Jang S Varman, TS Premi, Kuldip Sharma, Ashok Gupta, Dr Ashok Kumar, Chandu Bhau, Dr Pawan Khajuria, students and scholars from the Departments of Hindi, Dogri and Punjabi.
