REASI, Oct 31: Highlighting the unabated bias being experienced by the people of Jammu region over the years in diverse fields, Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP chairman and former Minister, today said that statehood for Jammu was the ultimate solution for all the prevailing ills.
Addressing a largely attended public rally at Reasi today, he said that with entire focus of the successive State as well as Central Governments on Kashmir, the Jammu region was perpetually made to suffer not only economically and politically but was fast losing its identity as well.
“Now the BJP’s rule has dashed all their hopes as the self proclaimed champions of Jammu surrendered whatever little was left before their mighty alliance partner,” he said and added that the realization was fast dawning upon the people of Jammu that statehood alone could satisfy their urges and aspirations.
Harsh Dev Singh alleged that educated unemployed youth of Jammu were being shabbily treated and entire thrust was on the Valley in the matter of employment with a further policy having been enunciated even for rehabilitation of the surrender militants, stone pelters besides a Job policy for NoKs of deceased stone pelters. “We have had enough of experimentation” he said adding that people especially the youth of Jammu must gird up their loins and join the movement launched by JKNPP for a separate State.
“We are not option-less people. We are not weak or exhausted. We can’t allow our posterity, our younger generations to continue to suffer, to lose, to bleed. We have to break the shackles of hopelessness that has engulfed us and reclaim back not only our lost pride and glory but our Dogra rule as well”, roared Harsh.
Balwant Singh Mankotia, State president JKNPP said that the party was organizing a rally in Jammu on 6th November, the opening day of Durbar at Jammu and appealed the people to participate in the same in large number to express their solidarity with the JKNPP’s crusade for Jammu cause.
