JAMMU, Nov 11: An impressive Shoba Yatra of Bhagwan Vishwakarma Ji was taken out under the leadership of Lakhpat Rai, chairman, Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha here today.
He was accompanied by R.L. Chargotra & R.C. Angentra ( Ex-president PVS J&K ).
The procession started from Sabha Head quarters Gurha Morh Baskshi Nagar and passed through the main bazars of the city. People from the different parts of the State participated giving a festive look to the Shoba Yatra.
The Shoba Yatra was flagged off by Kuldeep Raj Verma, vice-chairman J&K OBC Advisory Board along with Labha Ram Gandhi, president West Pakistan Refugee Action Committee.
Many Jankies showcasing different characteristics of Bhagwan Vishhwakarma gave extraordinary look to the Shoba Yatra.
The Youth were dancing to the beating of drums while women folk were singing in praise of Vishwakarma Ji. They were also chanting slogans ‘Prabhu Vishwakarma Ki Jai’.
Shoba Yatra later culminated at Vishwakarma temple Gurha Morh where it converged in public meeting, which was addressed by Shadi Lal Vishwakarma the senior member of the community who was also guest on honour on the occasion.
The speakers urged the State Government to concede their immediate demand of implementation of 27% reservation to OBC as well as political reservation.
The prominent who participated were Puran Chargotra, Rashpal Verma, Vijay Kumar Jagdish Raj, Shashi Verma, B.R. Kataria, Kuldeep Chalotra, Sham Chargotra, K.L Chargotra, Vinod Jaral, O.P Khokhar, Jagdev Chalotra & Joginder Angotra.
