JAMMU, Nov 3: Mystery shrouds the death of a man whose body was found in a nullah near the Basantpur village in Kathua district this morning lying in a pool of blood with mark of a gun shot on it while the desi gun was lying beside it.
Identified as Prem Singh, 60, son of Rattan Singh of village Bastanpur under the jurisdiction of Lakhanpur Police Station, he was missing from his residence for last three days.
His family members had filed a missing report at Lakhanpur Police Station in this regard. The Lakahnpur Police has registered a case under Section 174. After taking the body into its custody and completion of all legal formalities including getting the postmortem conducted from District Hospital Kathua, police handed over the body to family members for last rites.
It is presumed that the missing man might have committed suicide by shooting himself by his Desi rifle in utter frustration.
Meanwhile two persons from Tehsil Billawar died after consuming poison at their residences.
According to reports Kartan Singh, 65, son of Chand of Durrang Billawar had consumed the poison at his residence. He was referred to GMC Jammu for treatment where he breathed his last today.
Reports said Sagar Chand ,65, S/O HariSaran of Rasool in Billawar had also consumed some poisonous substance at his residence and he too was admitted in GMC where he died later.
Both the dead bodies have been shifted to mortuary for postmortem and after conducting the same they will be handed over to family for last rites tomorrow.
