JAMMU, Nov 3: One person was killed while another sustained serious injuries when a JCB hit a bike in Narwal area of city outskirts, late last night.
According to a police official, two persons namely Vijay Kumar son of Buthu Ram of Balore and Naresh Singh son of Parsuram of Garh (Billawar) were travelling on a bike bearing registration number JK02AD-9796, when a negligently driven JCB hit their two-wheeler at Malik Market.
In the mishap, both Vijay and Naresh received serious injuries. They were immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where Vijay was declared as brought dead by the doctors while Naresh’s condition was stated to be stable.
“After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites”, the official said, adding, the concerned police had registered a case in this connection and seized both the vehicles involved in the mishap while efforts were on to nab the absconding JCB driver.
