JAMMU, Nov 3: Former MLC Vikramaditya Singh today urged all the like-minded people and civil society members of Jammu to unitedly fight against anti-Jammu policies of the present PDP-BJP Coalition Government in the State.
In a statement issued here, Vikramaditya said that it was reassuring to see the number of civil society groups that have vociferously come out to highlight the Government’s failures to address popular demands of Jammu region.
These demands, he said, include removing toll tax on goods imported from outside J&K, growing unemployment amongst educated youth across Jammu region, honouring the sentiments of public by declaring Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary as a State holiday and addressing the concern of illegal Rohingya refugees in Jammu.
The former MLC said that leading members of the civil society have openly come forward and joined hands against anti-Jammu policies and mind set of the present Government. He appealed all such people to come together on a common platform to peacefully mark their strong protest on the opening day of the Secretariat in Jammu, as the Government continues to sideline critical issues concerning Jammu.
