JAMMU, Nov 4: BJYM paid tributes to its Shopian district president, Gowhar Hussian Bhat who was killed by terrorists in Kashmir Valley two days back at various places in the State by lighting the candles in his memory.
At Zero Bridge Srinagar BJYM and BJP activists assembled to and lit the candles in memory of their departed colleague in which the State president of the organization, Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra was present.
Paying tributes to Gowhar on the occasion, he said that “the whole country will not forget the supreme sacrifice by our brave brother and he will always remain with us in our struggle of taking Kashmir out from this present unrest,. Gowhar was a ground level worker and a great human being who has a good hold on the youth of South Kashmir”, he added.
He said it is because of his capability of playing a main role to turn youth from the path of violence towards peace and development, the militants got frustrated and they did this cowardice and inhuman act. This is not the end but a new start of struggle to take Kashmir out of crisis towards the path of peace and development, Dr. Magotra added.
He further said that the supreme sacrifice of this brave son of India will not go in vain and we all will make his dream of peaceful and prosperous Kashmir a reality in near future.
A large number of BJP and BJYM workers participated in the candle light procession and paid tributes to their colleague.
Er. Aijaz Hussain and Bilal Parray also spoke on the occasion and said, Bhat will always be remembered as martyr and will be with us in our struggle of peaceful and developed Kashmir.
Prominent who were present on the occasion were BJYM National vice-president Er. Aijaz Hussain, BJYM State secretary Bilal Parray, BJYM district presidents, BJP Kashmir Media incharge Altaf Thakur, Dr. Ali, Ashok Bhat, Asif Massudi and many others.
A similar tribute programme was also organised by State BJYM near Maharaja Hari Singh Statue Tawi Pul Jammu, where BJYM activist of Jammu lightened the candles and prayed for peace to the departure soul. BJYM State general secretaries Vikas Choudhary and Tarun Sharma spoke on the occasion.
