LOS ANGELES, Nov 6: Actor Kate Winslet says she does not want to quit acting ever and will keep working in films till life allows her to.
The 42-year-old star, however, says to maintain a long career it is important for her to be complacent.
In an interview with Harper’s Baazar, Winslet says, “I don’t want to be a person who won an Oscar and then disappeared off the face of the Earth. I want to be the person still here acting their socks off aged 90. And you don’t get there by being complacent.”
The actor says she is happy with the kind of work she is being offered.
“I don’t mind being 42 and not 22. I’m honestly OK not being sent scripts anymore where the main requirement is to be easy on the eye. I’m loving playing women who are more worn-in because of life experience. And it takes away the pressure of needing to conform, which I’ve never been very good at anyway,” she says. (PTI)
