JAMMU, Apr 28: All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation today took out a rally from Parade ground, in which hundreds of employees participated.
The rally headed by Giani Avtar Singh, president of Provincial Teachers Association passed through various bazaars and culminated at Shaheedi Chowk.
On the occasion, Abdul Majid Khan, State president of the federation paid tributes to the May Day Martyrs, who laid down their lives for securing Sunday as holiday and fixation of working hours for the working class.
While speaking, Abdul Majid Khan, criticized the anti people and anti-working class policies of the Central and State Government, due to which prices of the essential commodities of daily consumption are touching sky.
The speakers raised strong voice in support of commons as well as sectional grievances of the employees and pensioners and other section of employees.
The demands raised in the rally included payment of 6th CPC arrears in two installments on central pattern, enhancement of retirement age to 60 years, medical allowance to Rs 1,000, minimum daily wage to Rs 200, regularization of daily wagers, adhoc, contractual and consolidated employees, besides many other demands.
Kabla Singh, general secretary, PTA, Krishan Singh, Om Parkash, general secretaries of LPEF also addressed the gathering.
