JAMMU, Nov 7: A protest demonstration was staged by the students of Bhalessa studying in various colleges and different departments of Jammu University here today.
The students were demanding immediate creation of the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) for Bhalessa.
While speaking, Sadaket Malik, social activist said that the area of  Bhalessa has been attached under ADC Bhaderwah which is more than 100 kilometres from Gandoh Bhalessa. “Previously, Bhalessa was a part of ADC Doda which is only 66 kms from Gandoh. The inhabitants of Bhalessa can’t travel 100 kilometres to reach Bhaderwah for administrative work”, he stated.
“The protesters said that the public resentment has been seen in various areas of Bhalessa against the move of attachment of Bhalessa with ADC Bhaderwah and masses are on roads for withdrawal of these areas from ADC Bhaderwah. The fact in that ADC post for Bhaderwah has been created by the Government without any consultation. ADC post for Bhaderwah has been created under ambiguous facts and need immediate withdrawal to defy any loss in future due to the coming up of large scale protests at all levels”, said Ishtiaq Naik.
The protesting students were demanded immediate withdrawal of this order and detachment from Bhaderwah for administrative convenience. They served 30 days’ ultimatum to the Government for conceding the demand and also sought Chief Minister’s intervention.
Among others, who spoke were Raja Sarfaraz, Asif Ahmed, Shiv Narayan Singh, Wasim Mir, Mashkoor Rather, Vinay, Mohan, Bhushan, Arshad Mir, Yassir, Taseer Ahmed, Muzaffar Hussain, and large number of Bhalessa students.
