NEW DELHI/ JAMMU, Nov 7: Reiterating its commitment of expanding its operation and exert more thrust on Indian market, IndiGo, country’s largest and fastest growing low cost air-craft company has announced the launch of 47 new and additional flights on its network, there by achieving 1000 flights per day mark on December 23, 2017.
Talking to media-persons at the launch of 19 new and 28 additional flights, Aditya Ghosh, President and Director, IndiGo said, ” A thousand daily flights is a milestone that no airline in India has ever achieved before. As Indians, we are proud to create this new record. While one thousand is just a number, for us each flight represents an opportunity for millions to chase their dreams. As we approach this mark, we can not hide out excitement and thank our a hundred million customers who have made this journey possible.”
Ghosh further claimed that country’s best `one time performer’ will now operate maiden flights between Lucknow-Sharjah, Hyderbad -Sharjah, Lucknow-Jammu-Srinagar, Hyderabad-Ranchi, Lucknow-Dehradun amongst others.
These flights are designed to cater to the business and leisure travelers who are constantly on the look out for new and affordable flying options. The schedule will also see additional frequencies connecting Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Channai with major cities including Guwahati, Bhuvneshwar, Kochi, respectively.
IndiGo is India’s largest airline with a market share of 32.2 % as on Sept 2017. It is one of the fastest growing low cost carrier in the world. With its fleet of 142 Airbus A320 family aircraft, the airline operates over 900 daily flights connecting 46 destinations.
