KISHTWAR, Nov 7: Police arrested a drug peddler along with 700 grams of cannabis.
According to SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary, following specific information about transportation of drugs, a checkpoint was established at Sangram Bhata by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jillani under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Nihar Ranjan.
During checking, a drug peddler identified as Iqbal Khanday, son of Ghulam Mohammad Khanday, a resident of Loi Dhar Chhatroo was arrested along with 700 grams of cannabis, he added.
A case under FIR Number 226/17 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Kishtwar Police Station and investigations started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
