JAMMU, Nov 9: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today held an hour long meeting with Governor N N Vohra and discussed with him various important matters relating to the affairs of the State.
Vohra and Mehbooba discussed, among other matters, the internal security situation in the Valley, the functioning of various departments, particularly the Power Development, Social Welfare, Information and the Sports and Youth Affairs and the extent to which results had been achieved to secure the targeted goals.
The Governor suggested to the Chief Minister the enforcement of a stringent approach in regard to all departments which were not performing adequately. He also discussed with Mehbooba the significant advantage of there being no delay in commencing the process of conducting elections to the Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies.
Governor reiterated his concern about ensuring prompt attention to public grievances, efficient delivery of public services and severe punishments to those involved in corrupt practices.
