JAMMU, Nov 14: Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, S R Gandhi has rejected the bail application of Anil Pandita of Jagti Colony Nagrota, who was arrested by the police on October 26, 2012 for allegedly committing rape with 8 years old girl.
After hearing both the sides, CJM observed, “accused is a married man and the allegations against him are that he has sexually ravished an eight years minor child. The allegations against the accused are serious in nature. The gravity of the offence is such which can invite condemnation by the public”.
“The public interest as such is involved in this case and the case being very sensitive in nature is required to be dealt with strictly. The material collected so far by the police pinpoints the involvement of the accused for commission of offence”, the Court said, adding “in case accused person is released on bail at this stage, there is very likelihood of accused influencing/threatening the prosecution resultantly hampering the investigation”.
With these observations, Court rejected the bail application of the accused.
