JAMMU, Nov 12: Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Kumar Nanda flagged off a cycle rally organized by the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL) as part of nationwide awareness programme “Saksham Cyclothon-2017” from Regional Office, HPCL here this morning.
The rally was aimed at creating awareness among the masses towards judicious utilization and conservation of petroleum products including the fuel, oil and gas during their day to day life.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that recently the Prime Minister in the most popular public reach programme “Man-ki-Baat” stressed on the general masses to conserve fuel for the coming generations. He said as a part of the activities being organized across the country the Cycle Race will have positive impact on the people of the State also.
Underlining the need for launching a vigorous campaign to aware people about the importance of conservation of petroleum products, the Minister said that it will surely make the future of country secure. He said those youngsters especially driving heavy/light vehicles and two/three wheelers will have to play a pivotal role in conserving and preserving fuel.
Senior Regional Manager, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) Jammu, Aijaz Ahmad Kachroo, threw light on the need and importance of conservation of fuel. He said various events aimed at creating mass awareness about conservation of petroleum products are being organized in the State.
On the occasion, a Natak on the theme of ‘Conservation of Fuel’ depicting valuable message was presented by the local artists.
Among others, Senior Manager Marketing HPCL Sunil Kumar Dogra, Sales Manager Hamid Bulbul, senior officers of the Corporation, cyclists and large number of people were present on the ocassion.
