It is really a feast for the eyes to see selective roads being given cosmetic touches .Only those roads which are to be frequented by our VIP political leaders are not only repaired, renovated and painted with white and black colours but kept meticulously clean. Even these selected roads too get preferred attention only on the eve of Darbar move which otherwise is a sign of Royalty and a burden on state exchequer.
Can some of these leaders who have to use these roads pay surprise visits to those numerous roads where general public lives and which are dug up and remain unattended for months together? Can these leaders explain why Jammu is under the spell of digging spree here and there and that too recklessly without caring for the woes of the public .
ERA is testing the patience of the public and right from 2012 when it launched a mega digging programme for treating the night soil from the households in a scientific way, there seems no end to the completion of the dream project which was started more than six years back .In fact neither the project is in sight to have reached anywhere nor is it expected how long people are destined to face the hardships due to digging and unrepaired roads.
