NEW DELHI, Nov 14: Cardamom prices gained 2.05 per cent to Rs 936.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on pick up in demand in view of festive season.
Tight supplies following less arrivals from producing belts also supported the uptrend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January shot up by Rs 18.80, or 2.05 per cent, to Rs 936.50 per kg in business turnover of 135 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in November gained Rs 5.90, or 0.74 per cent, to Rs 808.20 per kg in 218 lots.
Market analysts said increased buying by speculators, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market due to festive season amid lower arrivals from producing belts mainly kept cardamom futures higher. (PTI)
