Sham inspects ongoing works for Jammu airport expansion

JAMMU, Nov 17: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary inspected ongoing works for shifting of canal escape and distributaries for expansion of Jammu airport besides construction of Barrage on River Tawi at Belecharana.
The Minister was informed that the work related to airport expansion is expected to be completed by the end of this year. He assured the officers that adequate funds will be released for ensuring that the timeline for completion are adhered to strictly.
While inspecting construction work on Tawi Barrage, the Minister instructed the executing agency to expedite the pace of work so that it is completed in four months. He asked the concerned officers to ensure use of quality material in all these vital works so that Government’s objective of creating durable assets in the State is met.
Spelling out Government’s initiatives of taking state towards new dimensions, the Minister said that during the tenure of present dispensation Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a significant rise in the development graph.
