JAMMU, Nov 18: The series of State level workshops by Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on the development of textbooks of Pahari and Dogri, concluded, here today.
Prof Veena Pandita, Chairperson / Secretary BOSE presided over the concluding function while Dr Farooq Ahmed Peer, Director Academics, Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal, Assistant Director and Dr Anuradha Sharma, Academic Officer, were in the presidium.
Prof Veena Pandita, while speaking on this occasion, appreciated all the experts for their valuable inputs and efforts for the amplification of Dogri and Pahari languages which will be beneficial for the society and stakeholders.
Dr Farooq Ahmed Peer, in his address, highlighted importance of the regional languages in the present era and assured that the workshops will be conducted in future also.
Dr Yasir Hamid Sirwal, said on this occasion that the development of textual material for such regional languages has been developed as per the aspirations of the speakers of Dogri and Pahari languages.
The experts informed that the ‘Text Books’ in Pahari and Dogri have been developed to introduce in Govt and Private schools of the State by BOSE. The teams have adopted two way approach in developing curriculum in consonance with guidelines of National Curriculum Framework-2005 “First, in text books, we highlighted the latest issues being faced by human kind included technical revolution, economy and environment, and secondly we projected the ignored aspects of the respective societies in the reference material on these regional languages”, Dr Farooq Anwar Mirza-convenor of “Pahari” language said.
The experts involved in these workshops were Raja Nazar Bonyari, Dr Jihangir Danish, Imtiyaz Hashmi , Mohd Javed, Dr Padam Dev Singh, Dr Rajesh Manhas, Dr Sushma Rani, Dr Sonam and Roshan Lal.
