JAMMU, Nov 22: A man today died of poisoning here in Jewel area falling under the jurisdiction of police station Nowabad.
According to a police official, a man identified as Ramesh Kumar (30) son of Gian Chand, resident of Vijaypur (at present Qasim Nagar), was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu late last night after he started vomiting.
“The man expired in the wee hours of today”, he said, adding, prima facie it appears that the man has consumed some poisonous substance. “However, it is a matter of investigation, he further added.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while Nowabad police has initiated inquest proceedings in the case.
