SRINAGAR, Nov 23: A distraught family from Malangpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district has appealed their militant son to come back.
Today a family from South Kashmir showed up in the Press Colony here in Srinagar and urged their son to return home. As per the family members, Adil Ahmad, 21, disappeared from his home on October 7.
“We lodged a missing report at a local police station but a few days back his photograph appeared in the social media wherein he was holding an assault rifle”, Haseena Akhter, his mother, said, adding the image confirmed that he has joined the militant ranks.
“Later we came to know that he had joined the militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen,” the family said.
Bilal Ahmad, father of Adil, said that his son was already inclined towards the extreme religious views and has little hope of his return. “Police has assured us that they will inform us if they arrest him or he is trapped in an encounter. We do not believe he will surrender at that time”, he said, adding they are appealing their son to come back home.
