SPIC MACAY launches Heritage Walk

JAMMU, Nov 24: Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY) J&K Chapter initiated the first ever Heritage Walk at the historic Mubarak Mandi Complex.
A group of fifty students from the JP World School had a unique experience by visiting the Dogra Art Museum at the Mubarak Mandi Complex along Meenu Bala, the Teacher Incharge.
The students were guided by Kirpal Singh, the Curator with the Dogra Art Museum. The visit to the museum was followed by the heritage walk inside the Mubarak Mandi Complex that made the students appreciate the rich heritage of Jammu region.
The event was coordinated by Dr Rajneesh Khajuria, Assistant Professor at the Law School, University of Jammu and the core volunteer of SPIC MACAY J&K Chapter.
The students had a reflection session at the school with the Principal Jitender Singh Hundal, who said that culture and heritage plays an important role in building an economically sustainable and cohesive country and need a special focus for promotion and preservation.
