Kohli asks doctors to deliver better health services

JAMMU, Nov 24: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Abdul Ghani Kohli chaired Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting of various health centres of Kallar Chatyar area in Kalakote here today.
While reviewing the physical and financial achievements of these institutions, the Minister directed for expediting the pace of ongoing works and ensuring regular follow up of decisions taken in Samiti meetings to improve the functioning of health institutions.
Stressing that it is imperative for health institutions to provide better health services to the patients, the Minister called for concerted efforts to minimize the number of referral cases to other health institutions.
He further directed the concerned to provide adequate number of ambulances to these institutions, besides ensuring sufficient availability of life saving drugs in RKS health centres.
Reiterating Government’s commitment to provide better health facilities to the people especially those living in far flung areas, the Minister called for judicious use of available funds under Rogi Kalyan Samitis and asked paramedical staff to remain punctual to their duties.
The meeting also discussed proposals for purchase of different items used in Labour Room, OT Section, ISM, X-Ray sections and PHC Kallar Chatyar. The members of RKS, senior officers from Health Department, Public Works and Social Welfare Departments were present in the meeting.
