JAMMU, Nov 25: A mentally unstable man was washed away after he allegedly jumped into Chenab River in Akhnoor area today.
“Kulvinder Kumar, son of Darshan Lal, resident of Sanjay Nagar, Jammu this afternoon jumped into River Chenab from new bridge,” a police official said. He said that a rescue operation was immediately launched with the help of locals but the body could not be fished out and the operation was suspended in the evening due to darkness.
“Gharota police had taken cognizance of the matter”, he further added.
